It includes the governance of data and information collection, arrangement, storage, maintenance, retrieval, dissemination, and destruction. It also includes maintaining the policies, guidelines and standards regarding data and information management and governance. Data management is also known by many other terms (generally synonymous): information management, information resource management, information asset management.
